Gary M. Gardner
President and Chief Executive Officer
Gary Gardner is a graduate of Texas Tech University (MS in Chemical Engineering) and Texas A&M University (MBA, as well as BS in Chem. Eng.). Gary has a corporate career spanning over 20 years. He has worked in a variety of technical and administrative functions, of which his highest responsibilities included VP – Sales and Marketing and VP – Finance and Administration for a major international chemical company.
He has lived and worked in many locations, both in the USA and abroad (including Europe, Mexico, and the Far East). Between 2001 and 2007, Gary founded, developed, and served as president of a 501(c)3 non-profit, named Ciudad de Angeles, that operates an orphanage in Mexico.
Favorite way to be active: Running, cycling, snow skiing, and chasing my granddaughter
Fitness goals: I would like to start running in competitive races again
Fitness hero: Erik Weihenmayer. An acquaintance of mine who is blind but has tackled some of the greatest physical challenges – including skydiving and climbing Mt. Everest. A real inspiration and a truly nice man. He has proven that even people with great physical challenges, can enjoy physical activity
Favorite walking or jogging trail: Profile Trail in Banner Elk, North Carolina. A 13 mile hike to the top of Grandfather Mountain
