Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and It's Foundation

Be Active North Carolina could not carry out its mission without the generous support of corporate and community partners. Because of their support, Be Active offers nationally-recognized, signature programs to get North Carolinians moving toward healthy, active lifestyles.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina as well as Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation are the founding sponsors of Be Active North Carolina. They are strong supporters of the organization and work closely with Be Active to increase public awareness of the effects of physical inactivity.

The Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education

The Poe Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to positively impacting the lives of North Carolina youth through health education. By engaging in fun, highly interactive lessons, preschoolers through twelfth graders receive information that follows the NC DPI Healthful Living Standard Course of Study on a variety of health topics; including nutrition, dental health, general health, family life and drug prevention.

NC Prevention Partners (NCPP) is a statewide non-profit, membership organization dedicated to building effective prevention systems in NC communities and health systems in order to improve health of all North Carolinians.

North Carolina Alliance for Health

The North Carolina Alliance for Health works to improve the health of North Carolinians by advocating policies that promote wellness and reduce the impact of tobacco use and obesity.

NC Healthy Schools

NC Healthy Schools focuses on improving the health of students and staff by providing coordination and resources in eight component areas of school health.

North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NCAAHPERD)

The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) is the largest organization of professionals supporting and assisting those involved in physical education, leisure, fitness, dance, health promotion, and education and all specialties related to achieving a healthy lifestyle.

North Carolina PTA

North Carolina PTA is North Carolina's oldest and largest volunteer organization advocating for the education, health, and success of all children and youth while building strong families and communities.

North Carolina Amateur Sports

State Games of North CarolinaNorth Carolina Amateur Sports (NCAS) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in 1983 to host the first sanctioned State Games of North Carolina in 1986 and the U.S. Olympic Festival-’87. Today, it operates with the goal promoting the spirit of amateur sports, physical fitness and health to all ages and skill levels through participation in organized events, which enrich the state of North Carolina. NCAS hosts the State Games of North Carolina, Cycle North Carolina "Mountains to the Coast" Bicycle Tour, Cycle North Carolina Spring Weekend Ride and The Be Active Challenge.

NC Department of Public Instruction

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is the agency charged with implementing the State's public school laws and the State Board of Education's policies and procedures governing pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public education. The elected State Superintendent of Public Instruction heads the Department and functions under the policy direction of the State Board of Education. 

Alliance for a Healthier Generation

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is a partnership between the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation. We have come together to create a new generation of healthy Americans by addressing one of the nation’s leading public health threats – childhood obesity.

NC School Health Connection

NC School Health Connection was developed by NC Prevention Partners in collaboration with NC Healthy Schools. Its mission is to identify and promote effective childhood obesity prevention programs in North Carolina public schools to empower key stakeholders and encourage collaboration among those seeking to improve student health and academic achievement.
