Be Active Team
The Be Active Team is committed to the mission of increasing physical activity levels and healthy lifestyles for all North Carolinians. We also strive to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles in our own personal lives and in the workplace. Our organizational policies reflect the many ways in which we put physical activity and healthy active lifestyles into practice.
Be Active Wellness Policy
Be Active North Carolina’s organizational policies and practices related to physically active and healthy lifestyles provide a foundation for modeling the strategies, interventions and behaviors we seek to influence in the communities and the clients with whom we work.
So as leaders in promoting healthy lifestyles through movement, Be Active North Carolina believes that “walking the talk” is integral to our credibility as an organization and to our integrity as professionals. As such, BANC principles, policies and practices help ensure we present consistent messages and model the changes we are trying to create in the communities and with the clients we serve.
BANC posts our principles, policies and practices regarding active living and healthy lifestyles on our website, shares them with prospective staff members and partners, regularly assesses individual and organizational commitment to these principles, and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement. Falls Lake Picnic
June 20, 2009 marked the first annual Be Active North Carolina Picnic held at Sandling Beach on Falls Lake. It was a warm, ok, hot day; but the lake provided a nice cool breeze. We played games, swam, ate good food, and celebrated Evie’s baby and Ashley’s wedding showers. A good time was had by all, especially the Be Active kids!

Be Active Team Building Day at Marbles Kids Museum
Be Active joins Marbles Kids Museum in its’ efforts of building healthy and active families. Through Marbles’ interactive exhibits, we were able to witness and participate in many of the health and physical fitness activities offered at Marbles.
The Be Active Staff was invited to tour the Marbles Kids Museum, a
hands-on, minds-on museum that inspires imagination, discovery and
learning through extraordinary adventures in play and larger-than-life
IMAX experiences.
After the tour, the Be Active Wellness Committee split the team into groups for a friendly but competitive scavenger hunt throughout downtown Raleigh.
