Eileen Goldgeier received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Brown University, and continued her education at Emory University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor. Goldgeier currently serves as General Counsel at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, she has held this position since 2003. Prior to her position as General Counsel, Goldgeier served as Associate and Assistant General Counsels at both North Carolina State University and The John Hopkins University. Goldgeier also gives her time to a number of boards and associations including the Board of Directors for the National Association of College and University Attorneys, Education Law Council for the NC Bar Association, and the North Carolina Golf Panel.
