Get Active!

Physical activity is an essential piece of an active lifestyle. It helps control weight, builds lean muscle, reduces fat,  and can help prevent a range of chronic diseases, including heart disease, cancer, and stroke. In North Carolina, physical inactivity and unhealthy eating combined are the second leading preventable cause of death. Be Active North Carolina aims to change that statistic by increasing opportunities for all North Carolinians to live healthy, physically active lives.
